I’m Huali Qu, a Los Angeles–based product design director with dual degrees from ArtCenter College of Design and Dalian University of Technology. I see design as storytelling—blending logic and empathy to render the world warmer, smarter, and more beautiful. My work spans AI robotics, sports tech, and sustainable systems, recognized by IDA, EPDA, and FIT. From concept to launch, I lead with curiosity, clarity, and compassion—bridging function with fantasy, and designing not just for users, but for the human story behind every product.

Growing up in an engineering family, my artistic soul was shaped to be highly logical. After graduating from Dalian University of Technology (DUT), I embraced ArtCenter to delve into my artistic potential. Here, I found the perfect balance between creativity and logic.

My energy thrives in the wild, with good friends, and restful sleep. I love handcraft, reading, and art. However, social pressure, authority, and deadlines deplete my energy. I'm also sensitive to rain and noises.

I was born in the oldest city in China:
Linfen, Shanxi. There are a lot of Chinese historical relics here, which had a subtle influence on me.
